Clover Creek Kennels
"A Puppy Taj Mahal"
Join me on a virtual tour of Clover Creek Kennels. Located in the
beautiful Morrisons Cove, set along Clover Creek  and Tussey Mountain,
Clover Creek Kennel is a state of the art facility. It is licenced under the
PA Dept of Agriculture and the USDA. Owned and operated by the
Newswanger family, an Old Order Mennonite family with seven beautiful
children, each dog at Clover Creek Kennel is lovingly cared for.

I hope you have enjoyed your virtual tour of Clover Creek Kennels. If you have
any questions, please feel free to ask. We are very proud of the high quality
facilities and the professional care the Newswanger family provides their puppies
and dogs. Their goal is to breed high quality family pets that will be loved and
enjoyed by their families for years to come. It is an honor and pleasure to work
with such professional people!
Under PA law, Kennel facilities must meet rigorous cleanliness and care
standards, which are designed to protect the health and well-being of the
dogs. Each day, the kennel is fully cleaned, and the family has designed
their facility to be easy to clean and pleasant to work in.
Dogs are housed in one of two
separated areas. Expecting mothers,
new moms with puppies and just
weaned puppies are in the spacious
Whelping area. Each pen has an
automatic waterer and feeder. The
entire facility is water resistant and must
be hosed down and sanitized regularly.
Puppies are born in whelping boxes
which are sanitized every day. These
boxes can be heated underneath to
provide more warmth to the new babies
during the first week or so of life. The
whelping area temperature is set at 75
degrees F, year around, so it is always
a comfortable and cozy haven for the
puppies and their mothers.

For the first 2-3 weeks the puppies will
spend most of their time in the box,
nursing their mothers and growing. At 3
weeks, the puppies will receive their first
worming. A vet visits the facility once a
month to provide routine consultation
with the caregivers.
As the puppies grow, the begin to
explore their world outside of the box,
experiencing their first taste of puppy
food at about 3-4 weeks. They are
also started on a top notch protocol of
vaccinations and dewormings to
protect their health from serious, life
threatening canine diseases.
Expecting and nursing mothers and
puppies are feed Royal Canin Pro
Starter Puppy formula, which is an
excellent, highly digestible, small kibble
puppy food. It is especially designed
for smaller breed dogs and helps the
puppies to grow in to strong, healthy
family pets.
